Two winners from the Jamestown Area Soap Box Derby turned in fine performances at the All-American Soap Box Derby last weekend in Akron, Ohio. Anthony Rivera lost by the slimmest of margins in the Stock Division, while Hunter Welder finished 10th in a field of about 70 drivers in the Super Stock Division. In addition, the Jamestown Area Soap Box Derby, spearheaded by Director John Williams, received one of eight “Outstanding Race City” awards. The two local soap box derby champions threw out ceremonial first pitches at Diethrick Park prior to their trip to Akron.
