Mole-Ames Team Shoots 63, Leads Italian-American By 2

ELLICOTTVILLE — Two longtime Italian-American Charity Golf Tournament partners find themselves with a slim lead after the second round of the 48th annual event at Holiday Valley Resort.

Henry Mole and Tom Ames fired a net best-ball 7-under 63 Friday that, when coupled with their opening-round 64, puts them at 127, atop the First Flight and two shots ahead of the field.

Nipping at their heels are George Panebianco and John O’Mara (64-65-129), who are second in the First Flight, and Dave Munella and Dave Currie (65-64-129), who sit atop the Second Flight.

Also in the hunt today for the coveted championship are two teams at 130; four teams at 131; and three teams at 132.

Other flight leaders are Paul Pappalardo and Pat Langworthy (67-64-131) in the Third Flight; Sam LaMancuso and Matt Hartweg (69-62-131) in the Fourth Flight; Tom Brigiotta and John Anderson (69-66-135) in the Fifth Flight; Mike Caprino and Ken Eimiller (72-68-140) in the Sixth Flight; and Casey Digirolamo and Randy Olson (75-68-143) in the Seventh Flight.

LaMancuso and Hartweg had the best round of the day with their 8-under 62.

The final round is today. The overall champion and runners-up can come from any flight.
