FREWSBURG — Brad Nelson scored 19 points to lead three players in double figures and Frewsburg shot brilliantly from the foul line en route to a 66-47 Division 2 West basketball victory over Brocton on Wednesday night.

Aaron Hair and Quinn Conlan added 12 points apiece and combined for 19 rebounds as the Bears raised their record to 8-7 overall and 6-3 in the division. Frewsburg also connected on a nifty 90 percent from the charity stripe (18 of 20) to keep the Bulldogs (1-14, 0-8) at bay.

Tyler Marchincin chipped in with 9 points and 10 boards, Nolan Brink added four assists and the Bears committed just eight turnovers.

Riley Rivera led Brocton with 10 points, Ronald Brown had 8 points and six rebounds and Hunter Rizzo added 9 points and three assists. All told, the Bulldogs drilled eight treys, but went to the line just once.

FALCONER — Levi Moore scored 16 points and had six steals to pace Cassadaga Valley to a 56-49 non-league victory over Falconer.

Connor Crabtree chipped in with 12 points and five steals, Adam Goot added 11 points, and Ty Pattyson had 9 points and 13 rebounds. Jarrod Ozga grabbed six boards.

The Golden Falcons were led by Brandon Crick with a game-high 23 points and six rebounds, Trent Wood had 12 points and six boards, and Bobby Samuelson added 11 points and three steals. Tylar Olson hauled down seven rebounds and Brody Rowan collected three assists in the losing effort.
