-Ross Grange Plans Picnic
FALCONER - Ross Grange will hold its annual picnic Monday at Falconer Park, Pavillion 3. Activities will begin at 3 p.m. with supper served at 5. Members should bring a dish to share, and a chair if they wish. Community service hours should be turned in at this time for the annual report. Some members will attend the County Grange picnic Sunday at the Carris Farm in Ripley. A tureen dinner will be served at 1 p.m. Those attending should bring a dish to share, table service, a chair and items for an auction. Ross officers will meet Aug. 25 at the home of Leona Peterson to appoint committees for the 2014-15 year.
School Supplies Signups Sunday
The New Covenant Assembly Church, 17 Arlington Ave., Jamestown, has a limited number of school supplies to give away on a first-come, first-served basis. The giveaway includes backpacks, pens, pencils, glue, notebooks, paper and other school supplies. Sign-up, only for those in need, is on Sunday from 12:30-2:30 p.m. with a pickup date of Sunday, Aug. 31 from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served and childrens games played on the day of pickup. Bible School Begins Monday
The Busti Church of God will hold ''Agency D3 - Discover. Decide. Defend,'' a vacation Bible school Monday through Thursday from 6:30-8:45 p.m. with programs for children in preschool through the 12th grade. Children attending will discover Jesus, decide to follow Him and defend their faith in Jesus. Mel McGinnis, pastor, will lead the adult class.
Brown-Winkler Reunion Planned
FALCONER - The 20th annual Brown-Winkler Reunion is Saturday. Registration is at 11 a.m. Food will be served at 1 p.m. Attendees should bring a dish to pass and their own table service. The reunion will be held in Falconer Park.
Blood Pressure Screening Set
FREWSBURG - The Myers Memorial Library, corner of Ivory and Falconer streets, Frewsburg, will hold its monthly blood pressure screening on Wednesday from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Registration is required. The service is free and done by a registered nurse. The screenings are held on the second Wednesday of each month. The library is handicapped accessible through the Ivory Street entrance. The library will also hold a family game night from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 18. Board games will be provided or participants can take their favorite game.
