Set For Saturday
RIPLEY - The Ripley United Methodist Church is having their annual Pig Roast on Saturday. The church is located at 84 W. Main St., Ripley. The cost is $9 and includes roasted potatoes, baked beans, applesauce and of course roasted pork, and cookies. The serving starts at 4 p.m. until gone and a presale ticket holds one's meal until 5:15 p.m. Tickets may be purchased from church members or at the door.
Sports Camp Begins Monday
LAKEWOOD - Lakewood Baptist Church will be having a mega sports camp Monday through Friday with a block party on Friday night. The block party will include a garbonics skit, bounce house, food and games. Parents and children are welcome to attend the block party. The sports offered will be basketball, football, soccer and cheerleading. Pre-registration is Monday at 5:30 p.m. The camp runs 6-8:30 p.m. nightly. Ages range from entering kindergarten through sixth grade.
Quilt Show Begins Saturday
SINCLAIRVILLE - The Valley Historical Society will be holding its annual quilt show Saturday and Sunday. The quilt show is held at the society's museum located at Main and Lester streets in Sinclairville. The museum will be open for the show on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 1-4 p.m. Each year the society attempts to display dozens of quilts never displayed in previous years. There is no charge to attend the show. Anyone wishing to display a quilt at the show should contact Betty Jean at 962-2309.
Special Music Set For Sunday
KENNEDY - Kennedy First United Methodist Church to have special music on Sunday. Douglas and Joyce Gilbert, formerly of Kennedy, will be singing back in their home church, Kennedy First United Methodist, on Sunday. The Gilber's, former members of the choir at Kennedy, now living in Irmo, S.C., will be singing a duet, accompanied by Cindy Woodin, organist.
Bible School Begins Monday
The Jamestown Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, corner of West Third Street and Lakin Avenue, Jamestown, invites area children and youth to participate in the vacation Bible School ''Knights of God,'' on Monday to Thursday from 6-8 p.m. Featured will be a medieval adventure for children, ages 3 to sixth grade and includes different activities each night for seventh through 12th-grade youth.
