ASHVILLE - There's something for everyone this weekend in Ashville.
The Ashville Community Celebration is planned for Saturday, with events taking place at the firemen's baseball diamond on Cedar Avenue.
Yard sales throughout Ashville will begin the day at 8 a.m. and an invocation and dedication to military service is at 9:50 a.m. The parade and "Best Float" award will be at 10 a.m. Judging will be at 11 a.m. for the "Tea Time Hat Contest," ages 2-12, the "T-shirt Contest," ages 8-14, the "Cute as a Bug Costume Contest," ages 5-10 and the "Sailboat Design Contest," ages 2-12.
Pictured is Bob Gleason, an honorary life member of the Town of North Harmony Ashville Volunteer Fire Department. The fire department is celebrating its 100th anniversary in August and will be hosting a pig roast during the Ashville Community Day on Saturday.
The T-shirt designs must be created with crayon only, using an iron and waxed paper to adhere the design to the shirt. Shirts should be worn to the contest. All sailboats, bug costumes and hats should be completed and worn or brought to the contest.
Because the Town of North Harmony Ashville Volunteer Fire Department is celebrating its 100th anniversary in August, the parade floats will focus on the theme "100 Years Ago" - a view into what the Ashville community looked like a century ago.
According to Judy Wroda, event coordinator, nearly the entire event is different from previous years.

"It was dwindling the past few years," Wroda said. "(Event Coordinator) Martha Gleason came to me and we decided to revamp it."
According to Wroda, there will be at least 34 vendors participating this year, each with their own unique wares.
"People will have the opportunity to purchase a lot of different things - there are no duplicate vendors," Wroda said.
At noon, the kickball game, "Big Kids (Adults) versus The Little Kids," will take place for three innings. Contact Gleason at 763-9252 or Wroda at 789-9849 to sign up for the game.
Music on the porch of the Ashville General Store will also begin at noon. At 1 p.m., the handmade sailboat race - with the sailboats entered into the sailboat design contest earlier in the day - will take place on Goose Creek. Participants will meet on the baseball diamond before walking down as a group. At 2 p.m., Schuyler's chicken will be available.
All vendor booths will close at 4 p.m.
At 10 p.m., a fireworks display will take place around the Llama Club, 4939 Route 474.
Other events throughout the day include the Ashville Volunteer Fire Department's pig roast, an eight-contestant pie eating contest for individuals 18 and older, a water fight between various local volunteer fire departments and activities by Evergreen Outfitters.
There are still spots open for floats, the pie eating contest and vendors. For more details, to sign up for an event or to see how you can volunteer, contact Gleason or Wroda by Friday.
According to Wroda, the celebration is slated to grow further in the coming years. Next year, Jim Wroda Auction Service will open its doors to hold an antique flea market during the event.
Parking will be available in the Llama Club parking lot and after the parade at the Jim Wroda Auction Service parking lot.
Signs will be strategically located to direct attendees to parking and events.
