Donald B. Thoren, 83, of Orchard Park, formerly of Jamestown, N.Y., Lakewood, Ohio and Amherst, N.Y., died Thursday (July 3, 2014) at Absolut Care in Orchard Park, N.Y.
He was born Dec. 21, 1930, in Jamestown, the son of Floyd L. and L. Ethel Whitney Thoren.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, and prior to retiring in 1986 had been employed as a custodian with the Lakewood (Ohio) school district. Following his retirement he had worked as a clerk at Dairy Mart Stores.
He was a member of Ira Lou Spring Post 149 American Legion.
Don had traveled extensively to Europe following his retirement, and had spent time in Salzburg, Austria.
Surviving are a daughter, Debbie Thoren of Sheffield, Ohio; a niece, Yvonne Chrisaden of Jamestown; a nephew, Steven Craig Thoren of Buffalo; and seven great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard F. Thoren.
A service will be held at the convenience of the family. Mr. Thoren was most recently a communicant of St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Buffalo. N.Y.
