SALAMANCA - Summertime visitors to the Seneca Allegany Casino can place their bets on a star-studded concert series this year.
Beginning Friday, and extending into September, the casino's 2014 Summer Rush concert series is not likely to leave area residents disappointed in its selection of performers who will be appearing in concert over the coming months.
Attendees of the first installment of the 2014 Summer Rush concert series will be serenaded by one of the music industry's biggest names - John Legend.
Nine-time Grammy Award-winning recording artist John Legend is pictured playing his piano during a previous concert. Legend will be appearing at the Seneca Allegany Events Center for an 8 p.m. performance Friday.
Legend, a nine-time Grammy Award-winning artist, will appear at the casino Friday as part of his "All Of Me" tour - promoting the release of his 2013 album, "Love In The Future." Legend first gained attention in early 2005 with the top 10 hit "Ordinary People." Most recently, his hit single "All Of Me" - from which his tour derived its name - reached No. 2 on the Billboard R&B charts and No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Tony Astran, publicity manager for the Seneca Gaming Corporation, said those attending Friday's performance can expect to have a very memorable and personal experience, as the "All Of Me" tour features intimate, acoustic and stripped down sets.
Friday's appearance will mark the first time Legend has performed at the casino. Astran said the Seneca Allegany Events Center is "thrilled" to be a stopping point on Legend's tour.
"John Legend is one of the hottest names in the music industry today, and he has collaborated with virtually every big name in R&B, soul and hip hop," Astran said. "This promises to be one of the most memorable shows of the summer for the larger region, and we know that fans are going to enjoy experiencing John Legend's spectacular singing ability and piano-playing on full display."
