May 4, 2014
Post-Journal

Harold "Shorty" Olson was recently presented with a special award by the Jamestown Musical Association, Local 134, AFM. Shown in the photo presenting the award to Olson is President James Gumina. The award credits Olson with nearly 20 years as a local Big Band leader in the Jamestown area, and over 60 years of musical contributions to the local community. The association also teamed with the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra to make a donation of $500 to partner with the Chautauqua Institution building a new Amphitheater. The presentation was made to Marty Merkley, vice president and director of programming, by Peter Lindblom, Jamestown Musical Association vice president, and Jim Gumina, JMA president. Pictured, from left, are Lindblom, Merkley and Gumina.
