Seniors To Hold Tureen Dinner
Jamestown Area Senior Center members will meet for a tureen on Feb. 25 at 1 p.m. Those attending should take their own table service.
To Host Dinner
Boy Scout Troop 169 will host a spaghetti dinner on Saturday in the Fluvanna Fire Hall, Fluvanna-Townline Road, from 4:30-7:30 p.m. The cost is $8 for adults; $3 for children. Takeouts are available.
Advocacy Event Postponed
The Advocacy 101 Workshop scheduled for today at the Katherine Jackson Carnahan Center, Jamestown Community College has been postponed. The workshop will be rescheduled as soon as possible. Zook To Appear On Senior Report
MAYVILLE - Senior Report with Reed Powers will have Galen Zook as the guest Saturday's program. Zook is an oxygen therapist. The live, call-in program airs from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday morning. Individuals may call 753-5225 during that time with questions or comments. The program is rebroadcast each day at 2 and 8 p.m. for some communities. Reed Powers, host of Senior Report, has been producing the television program since 1995. The series highlights senior citizen club news for 15 minutes with the remainder of the hour-long program devoted to the featured guest. The guest is subject to change. Senior Report is shown live on Saturday mornings on Time Warner cable systems covering the following communities: Brocton, Cassadaga, Chautauqua, Fredonia, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Ripley, Sherman, Stockton and Westfield on Channel 5. In Dunkirk, Falconer, Forestville, Hanover, Irving, Jamestown, Lakewood and Silver Creek the program is on channel 19. The show originates at the Access Channel 5 studio in Mayville.
Garbage Pickup Set For Today
CELORON - Due to mechanical problems with the garbage truck, any garbage not collected on Tuesday will be collected today in Celoron.
Channel 5 To Show Lectures
In cooperation with the Chautauqua Institution, Access Channel 5 will begin televising some of the Chautauqua lectures. Dalia Mogahed spoke during Week Two of the 2013 season. The theme that week was "The Next Greatest Generation." The program will air on Access Channel 5 at 3 and 9 p.m. each day beginning Saturday with the last airing on Feb. 28. Access Channel 5 is available to cable viewers in the Chautauqua, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Sherman, and Westfield areas.
