YWCA To Hold Event Tuesday
Dinner, music, purses and prizes are all part of a new event at the Celoron Legion on Tuesday. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and a buffet dinner is served at 6 p.m. Drawings will be held for assorted types of new and gently used bags filled with an assortment of prizes. There will also be some bags with mystery prizes. Tickets are on sale now for $25 which includes dinner and 10 drawing tickets. Tickets can be purchased in person at the YWCA, 401 N. Main St., or over the phone by credit card at 488-2237. The first 50 ticket holders will receive a $10 gift certificate to La Scala Restaurant. Music will be provided by TAPT, a four-man group from Fredonia who will be providing covers from DMB, Weezer, John Mayer, Kings of Leon, Dispatch and originals written by the band.
Kennedy First United Methodist Church will be holding a fundraiser at the Foote Avenue Pizza Hut on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. By presenting a coupon, customers are supporting the church and its missions to various area projects. For each coupon presented for food purchases, Pizza Hut will give the church 20 percent of that purchase. The vouchers are available at the church or mission team members. Some of the local projects supported by the church include: the church food pantry and emergency fund, St. Susan's, Salvation Army, Royal Family Kids Camp and the Ellington food pantry. Celoron Seniors To Hold Meeting
Celoron-West Ellicott Seniors will meet for a Valentine lunch on Feb. 19 at noon in the Herman Kent Legion Post. Hosts will be Chuck and Dee Ellis, June Federko, Mary Keeney and Beverly Lindstrom. Members attending should take a tureen to share and their table service.
Myers Library To Show 'All Is Lost'
FREWSBURG - Myers Memorial Library will be showing "All is Lost" with Robert Redford as its free monthly movie on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. in the library's community room. Redford is the only actor in this movie about one man's battle for survival against the elements after his sailboat is destroyed at sea. There is almost no dialogue in this movie. The movie is rated PG-13 for brief strong language. All movies at the library are sponsored by Frewsburg Pharmacy. The library is located at the corner of Ivory and Falconer streets in Frewsburg.
