Absentee Ballots Now Available
SALAMANCA - The Salamanca City Central School District recently announced the availability of absentee ballots for the special district vote to be held on March 11. The requirements are as follows: The applicant must be over 18, a registered voter, and a qualified voter of the school district; The application must be unable to vote in person on the day of the vote for reasons such as: in the hospital, nursing home, etc., outside of area on business, vacation outside of area or in college; service; application forms may be obtained from the School District Clerk during business hours 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday or call 945-2403 for one to be mailed; the application must be received by the clerk at least seven days before voting if ballot is to be mailed to the voter or day before vote if the ballot is to be delivered personally to voter; absentee voter's ballot must be received by the School District Clerk no later than 5 p.m. on Voting Day. MAYVILLE - Shooters Committee on Political Education will hold its regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the VFW Post, 10 Memorial Drive, Mayville. Election of new officers and committee chairs will be held, plus an update on the goals for SCOPE. Sid Compton and Ben Lewis will present a review of information learned at the SCOPE conference for leaders held in Geneva Feb. 1-2. Future events will be a gun show in Salamanca Feb. 22-23. A rally will be held April 1 in Albany by those concerned about New York state's violation of the Second Amendment. A bus will be provided from this area for those interested in attending. Meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month. The public is invited to attend.
Farmland Board To Meet Tuesday
LITTLE VALLEY - The next Agricultural and Farmland Protection Board meeting will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Large Committee Room on the third floor of the Cattaraugus County Center in Little Valley.

LAKEWOOD - The Lakewood Memorial Library Book Group will meet Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. to discuss "The Aviator's Wife" by Melanie Benjamin in which the author pulls back the curtain on the marriage of Charles Lindbergh and Anne Morrow Lindbergh. Monthly selections have been chosen for this year, and copies of the list are available at the library. The book group meets the third Tuesday of the month at 2:30 p.m. at the library.
