Yearbooks Now Being Collected
BEMUS POINT - The Bemus Point Historical Society has begun assembling a collection of Bemus Point Central School yearbooks. To date, Bob Terreberry and Donald Traynor have successfully obtained yearbooks as far back as 1931, 1945, 1951, 1999 and 2000-13. Of all the museum's holdings, the yearbooks are the most frequently requested items by visitors seeking information on family or friends. Country and gospel music will be performed from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the East Randolph United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. The host band is Higher Ground.
Bona Band To Perform Sunday
ST. BONAVENTURE - St. Bonaventure University's Concert Band and Choir will hold their first performance of the spring semester Sunday in the Rigas Family Theater at the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts. The concert, which will begin at 2 p.m., will feature works by Harold Walters, James Curnow and others. Admission is free and open to the public.
Host New Event
Dinner, music, purses and prizes are all part of a new event at the Celoron American Legion on Tuesday. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and a buffet dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Drawings will be held for assorted types of new and gently used bags filled with an assortment of prizes. There will also be some bags with mystery prizes as well. Tickets are on sale now for $25 which includes dinner and 10 tickets for the drawings. Tickets can be purchased in person at the YWCA, 401 N. Main St., or over the phone by credit card at 488-2237. The first 50 ticket holders will receive a $10 gift certificate to La Scala Restaurant. Music will be provided by TAPT, a four-man group from Fredonia, which will be providing covers from DMB, Weezer, John Mayer, Kings of Leon, Dispatch and originals written by the band.
Historical Society To Meet Monday
FREWSBURG - The Carroll Historical Society will hold its first 2014 meeting on Monday at 7 p.m. Meetings are open to the public. A surprise for the evening is planned. The society meets in the building behind the Carroll Town Hall, 5 Main St., Frewsburg.
Library To Close For Presidents Day
FREWSBURG - The Myers Memorial Library, corner of Ivory and Falconer streets, Frewsburg, will be closed on Monday in recognition of Presidents Day. It will reopen on Tuesday at its regular time of 1 p.m. Library hours are Monday through Wednesday from 1-8 p.m.; Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday, 2-5 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. to noon. To Meet Tuesday
The Busti Fire Department Auxiliary will meet on Tuesday in the fire hall, at 7 p.m. Discussion will be on helping the firemen with their 75th anniversary celebration, the Daytona 500 party on Sunday, Feb. 23 and the annual firemen and auxiliary banquet on March 15. All members are encouraged to attend this meeting.
