I work in the BWB building and have to walk across Washington Street either from Third Street or Second Street.
The light at Washington and Second Streets rarely works properly for pedestrians so I take the Third Street route. Regardless of the direction drivers have no respect for pedestrians. Pedestrians have supposedly 19 (questionable) seconds to cross four lanes of fairly fast traffic. That time is cut in half due to cars running red lights.
A coworker was hit on Second Street and the driver kept going. We have issues with drivers running red lights daily. Or, drivers turning right on red - not looking to see anyone is crossing before their turn. Many times drivers have given me rude hand gestures as I am holding up their continuing through a light.
This is a very dangerous situation.
