Sherman To Present Musical
SHERMAN - The Music Department at Sherman Central School is hosting its fall production this weekend. The Sherman Central School Music Department will be presenting "Alice in Wonderland." The show times are Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
Christmas Auction Set For Saturday
ELLINGTON - A Christmas auction, featuring Miller's Auction Service, will be held Saturday at the Ellington Fire Department, beginning at 5 p.m. The auction benefits the Ellington Food Pantry. Food will be available. Items up for auction could include: household items, Ertl toys, clothing, tools, giftware and food items.
Candidate Forum Set For Today
The League of Women Voters and AAUW will host a candidate forum from 6:30-8:30 p.m. today at the James Prendergast Library. Candidates invited to attend include Vince Horrigan and Ron Johnson, candidates for Chautauqua County executive; Lori Cornell and Larry Barmore, candidates for Chautauqua County clerk; and area candidates for Chautauqua County legislature.
Westside Women To Host Quilter
Betty Swanson, a quilter from Warren, will present the program when the Westside Women meet on Friday at 1 p.m. in the Bethel Lutheran Church. The meeting will be hosted by Elaine Damsteegt, Nancy Ahlstrom, Ruby Burns and Marion Hull. A vote will be taken on the new amendment to the constitution creating a program committee. Members should take gently used clothing and non-perishable food for the Bethel Lutheran Church community outreach. Women living on the west side of Jamestown and interested in joining the group should contact Maxine Castiglione at 484-8342.
Set For Friday
FORESTVILLE - A Towel Party will be held at the Forestville Order of the Eastern Star on Main Street in Forestville on Friday. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $3. Refreshments will be available. The public is welcome. For more information call Beth at 965-4260.
Square Dance Event Saturday
MACHIAS - The Cattaraugus County Museum recently announced that it will be hosting part of the second annual Keith Blackmon Memorial Dance Weekend. Created by Howard Blumenthal, this weekend of activities commemorates the life and music of the late square dance caller Keith Blackmon. On Saturday from 1-5 p.m., the museum will host a dancing workshop and discussion on the life of Blackmon, as well as a display of memorabilia. The event will be free and open to the public. Harvest Dinner Set For Saturday
PANAMA - The Panama United Methodist Church, 22 E. Main St., Panama, will hold a harvest dinner and bazaar on Saturday from 4-6:30 p.m. Featured will be a turkey dinner with all the trimmings.
