Food Handler Class Is Today
MAYVILLE - The next Chautauqua County certified food handler class will be today at the Chautauqua County Office of Emergency Services, training room 1, 2 Academy St., Mayville, in the former Mayville High School. Those attending should use the rear entrance facing the south parking lot next to bus garage. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. with the course from 1-4 p.m. Pre-registration is required. Historical Society To Meet Today
FREWSBURG - The Carroll Historical Society will meet today at 7 p.m. Barbara Cessna and Phoebe Forbes the society collections managers will present a program of recent interesting donations to the society. A slate of officers will be developed for the upcoming elections in November. The public is welcome to attend all meetings. They are held in the rooms behind the Carroll Town Hall, Main Street, Frewsburg.
Affordable Care Act Meeting Set
The Fluvanna Free Library will hold an informational meeting on the Affordable Care Act today from 6-7 p.m. at the library, 3532 Fluvanna Ave. Extension, Jamestown. A representative from the Chautauqua Center in Dunkirk will be the speaker. The meeting will include an opportunity to ask questions. No registration is required. Candidates To Meet In Dunkirk
DUNKIRK - A meet the candidates event will be held at Rookie's Sports Bar, 19 Lake Shore Drive, Dunkirk on tonight from 5-7 p.m. Vince Horrigan, county executive candidate; Larry Barmore, county clerk candidate; and George Borrello and Mike Sullivan, county legislature candidates, will be in attendance. Veggies and wings will be provided and there will be a cash bar. The public is welcome with their questions and concerns.
College/Career Night Is Tuesday
Jamestown Community College and the Chautauqua County Counselors Association will host the 37th annual College & Career Night from 6-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the Physical Education Complex on JCC's Jamestown Campus. The program offers high school students, their parents, and community members the opportunity to gather information about educational institutions and career possibilities. Gerry Auxiliary To Meet Tuesday
The Gerry Volunteer Fire Auxiliary will meet Tuesday in the Gerry Fire Hall at 7 p.m. Discussion will be on the annual Santa's craft bonanza and scrap booking crop. Refreshments will be served. All members are encouraged to attend.
