Intergenerational Suzuki violin lessons at Lutheran will begin Sept. 10.
"This is an exciting program," said Nina Karbacka, Suzuki teacher. "Children and adults are learning together, performing together and establishing enduring friendships.
"I see students twice a week at Lutheran," Karbacka continued. "They are here for both a lesson and a group experience, so I am seeing my students progress at a more rapid rate than when I taught in the school system and could only see students once a week. It has also been extremely beneficial to have both children and adults in lessons and groups. They are able to help each other and children seem to stay more focused when they are with their 'grandfriends'."
The Suzuki program is held at Lutheran and is open to children and adults of all ages. Beginners from age 3 to 103 are welcome. If you would like a brochure about the program, would like more information, or would like to sign up for lessons and groups, call Suellen Carlson at Lutheran, 665-8090.
