Gertrude E. DeHoff, 88, of Gerry, N.Y., (formerly of Maplecrest, N.Y.) went to be with the Lord, Sunday, June 9, 2013.
She was predeceased by her son, Donald DeHoff; brothers: Marion and Donald Frasier; and sisters: Araminta Dutcher, Marguerite Vining, and Henrietta VanEtten and son-in-law, Marvin H. Deats. Survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Ivan L. DeHoff; daughter, Linda Deats; son, Dean (Carolyn) DeHoff; and grandchildren: Craig (Jennie) Deats, Michael (Linda Ann) Deats, Brandie (Kevin) Trent, Robin (Craig) Stogran and Mary Horn. Also surviving are five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Gertie was a loving wife, mom, grandma and friend. Her family was her pride and joy. She enjoyed homemaking, crafting and sewing, and doing for others.

For much of her life she was involved in many ministries of the Free Methodist Church, holding several leadership roles, teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She was known as "Aunt Gertie" to many children throughout the community. She will always be remembered for her Christ-like loving and giving spirit and her beautiful smile.
A memorial service will be held June 29, 2013, in the Seeley Chapel at Heritage Village Retirement Campus, Gerry, N.Y. at 2 p.m. Family will receive guests at 1 p.m.
