FREWSBURG - Richard W. Freeman Sr., 80, of 1004 Peterson Road, died Monday (April 22, 2013), at his home.
He was born Feb. 9, 1933, in Ellington, the son of William and Mable Luce Freeman.
Before retiring in 1995, he had been employed by the Chautauqua County Highway Department.
He and his wife had spent many winters in Florida, and he loved and enjoyed his family.
He was a former life member of the Sinclairville Volunteer Fire Department.
Richard is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lois Sisson Freeman, whom he married Aug. 18, 1952; a son: Richard Freeman Jr. of Lake City, Fla.; three daughters: Wanda (David) Kozlowski of North Port, Fla., Mona (Bruce) Koterass of Sinclairville, and Barbara (Rodney) Craumer of Ten Mile, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a brother, Ralph Freeman of Maryland; and sister, Joyce Schauman of Kennedy.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, George Freeman; and four sisters: Mary Freeman, Agnes LeBarron, Catherine Storey and Phyllis Lamberson Moran. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Frews-burg.
No visitation or services will be observed. The Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg, is in charge of arrangements.
