Harriet L. (Felton) Feiss, 92, of Ripley, N.Y., died at home on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013. She was born in North East, Pa., on April 20, 1920, to the late George N. and Clarissa Bertha (Allen) Felton.
Harriet graduated from North East High School in 1938. On April 10, 1942, she married Lewis V. Feiss, who died in 1991. Harriet lived in Ripley for 60 years and was a homemaker who enjoyed a variety of activities, including bowling, basketball, fishing and playing cards, specifically poker and 500. She was a member of the Ripley Grange and had worked for a time at the former Colonial Squire Motel.
Harriet is survived by her son, Grant N. (Sandy) Feiss; daughter, Barbara Feiss; sister, Lois Rouse, and her daughter-in-law, Helen Lewis (Feiss) Tracey. She is further survived by grandchildren: Kerry (Darrin) Nesbitt; Zayn Pacyliak; James, Rachel, and Sarah Peterson; as well as a niece and several nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Harriet was predeceased by her son, Clair E. Feiss; sisters: Gladys Meehl and Betty Baldwin; brothers: Harold, Fred and George Felton; and her nephew, Gary N. Felton.
Relatives and friends may call at the Mathews Funeral Home, 104 W. Main St., Ripley, NY, on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Harriet's 11 a.m. funeral service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Mathews Funeral Home with Philip Johnson officiating.
