Kellie Hultin has a goal in life, making people feel special.
In order to accomplish her goal, Hultin has opened Serenity Salon & Spa, 310 Sprague St., Jamestown. The new business opened Oct. 1 and is a full-service salon and spa. Hultin, who has been a nail technician for seven years, specializes in doing manicures, pedicures, glitter and gelish nail polish treatments. Heather De Jesus is also a nail technician for Serenity.
Along with the nail technicians, the business has four hair stylists: Mary Ann Bianco, Rosa Lamper, Heidi Smith and Sarah Waite. The salon offers hair cuts, coloring, highlights, lowlights, perms and extensions.

The salon and spa has a massage therapist, Danielle Bergman, who offers hot stone, Swedish, deep tissue, therapeutic, aroma and prenatal services. The business also offers full body waxing and facials.
Hultin said she has always wanted to work in a salon and spa.
''I put it in my baby book when I was a little kid,'' she said. ''I love interacting with people, making them feel special, making people feel good about themselves.''
Hultin said she is enjoying calling the shots and being in charge of her own business.
''I like being able to make the decisions. I liked picking the colors for the remolding,'' she said about renovating the business' interior.
For those looking for group events, Serenity offers the birthday party, for ages 12 and under; ladies' night; and a wedding bridal package.
