Surplus Auction Set For Saturday
LITTLE VALLEY - Cattaraugus County will hold a Surplus Auction on Saturday at the Department of Public Works building, 8810 Route 242, Little Valley. Doors will open at 8 a.m. with the auction to start at 9 a.m. All participants must have a bidder number, which can be obtained by visiting www.cattco.org. Blood Drive Set For Saturday

Christmas Auction Set For Saturday
FINDLEY LAKE - The Findley Lake Volunteer Fire Department will hold a Christmas auction at 6 p.m. this Saturday and Saturday, Dec. 1 in the fire hall. The kitchen will open at 5:30 p.m.
Campus To Hold Safe Halloween
FREDONIA - State University at Fredonia School of Music students in the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia fraternal society will host a "Safe Halloween" event in all of the Mason Hall practice rooms on the Fredonia campus from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. Senior Report To Host Goodell
Senior Report with Reed Powers will feature Andrew Goodell as the guest Saturday. Goodell is the New York state assemblyman for the 150th district. The live, call-in program airs from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday morning. Individuals may call 753-5225 during that time with questions or comments. The program is rebroadcast each day at 2 and 8 p.m. for some communities. Reed Powers, host of Senior Report, has been producing the television program since 1995. The series highlights senior citizen club news for 15 minutes with the remainder of the hour-long program devoted to the featured guest. The guest is subject to change. Senior Report is shown live on Saturday mornings on Time Warner cable systems covering the following communities: Brocton, Cassadaga, Chautauqua, Fredonia, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Ripley, Sherman, Stockton and Westfield on Channel 5. In Dunkirk, Forestville, Hanover, Irving and Silver Creek the program is on channel 19. The show originates at the Access Channel 5 studio in Mayville.
Thrift Shop To Be Open Sunday
This week only St. Luke's Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St., Jamestown, will be open 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday. Items will also be available in the church undercroft after the 10 a.m. Holy Eucharist service. Thanks to the generosity of parishioners and the local community, the shop is well-stocked with a large variety of quality clothing for ladies, men, and children as well as jewelry, Christmas items, and small house wares. Proceeds are used for outreach in the local community.
