The writer reflects back on the halcyon days of television journalism, when only one viewpoint was offered, and refers to the “famed retired anchorman Dan Rather” citing Rather as an authority on newscasters who are ”courageous and truthful.” Have we forgotten that Rather attempted to influence a presidential election by introducing a forged document , and that he retired after CBS fired the producers responsible for the show? And that the journalist responsible for uncovering the deception was an Internet blogger? “Infamous” is more accurate.
