Wake up, parents. Common Core is a Federal takeover of our school system which includes DATA MINING our children. "IRIS SCANNING" has already begun in a Florida school. In the name of security, Big Brother wants to know how much money you make, you you voted for, what church you attend---all so they can "help" your child learn. It's a cradle to grave "placement" of your child, modeled after Communist China. Spread the word and don't be afraid to stand up. The school is supposed to rest with the state and then the locality.

Common Core is a DISASTER. No where are there Sports or Arts of any kind present in this "Common Core"

The Common Core helps to make our kids obese with sitting and studying and teachers teach the tests so students can pass the tests. Critical thinking is often an afterthought.

Music, Dance, Football, and many other "school" activities are left for the parents to afford during after school hours. But how can one gain the skills for the Violin or Left Tackle if your left MEMORIZING a test?

Well it sure is about time Dean! So where were you two years ago when this very same issue was presented to you and the Southern Tier Tear Party by me and my daughter?? Your voice was the loudest to say it was not an issue for the Tea Party. We had and still have all the research! Just think what could have been done by now! You keeping people informed!!! Well you are two years too late! You still don’t get, there is a great deal more! Duckster, look closer it is there.

For the past three years I have reviewed my nieces classwork from Maple Grove very carefully. As a former educator at the HS and University level I was surprised at the sophistication, sound learning, and overall educational platform these students are being exposed to. Their fund of knowledge is quite good. I found no particular leftist ideology in their history or English material. My only critique is that the staff are living in an upper middle class world and seem to present an air of " Doesn't everybody go on vacations and drive a new car?" myopia. What are these tea party guys talking about?
