Anyone who says the NY SAFE Act is not all bad must have some areas that they are in agreement with. Exactly which ones? With all due respect I ask you to review the comments from many different factions of our state including Law Enforcement, County Clerks and very importantly some Mental Health Organizations at: ***********nysaferesolutions****/

Now tell us exactly what you think is "okay" and how exactly you feel it will apply to the criminal actions that we all would like removed from our society. It is my opinion that if you are not outraged then you are not paying attention.

here is the bill, not just the FAQ: ***********

"the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed" Leaves nothing to interpretation. The definition of Arms is any weapon you can carry. Gun owners have bent over enough to uncontitutional restrictions. Criminals do not abide by laws. People were killing people long before guns. You can't uninvent the gun. People have fabricated firearms in prison. A criminal could kill as many people with an automobile as a gun. Anyone remember Tim Mcveigh? He used fertilizer and fuel. All of the people who are for new gun legislation have a few things in common. They know absolutely nothing about firearms, freedom or history.

It's only the beginning with homeland security purchasing 2700 armored anti-mine/ied vehicles for American streets along with purchase over a billion round of ammo.Hold on the "o"man has plans!! Cuomo just trying to help him.

my words repeated in several threads. THE COMRADE CUOMO MANIFESTO is BS of the highest degree. It will accomplish nothing except anoint him as the knee-jerk-political-agenda-look-what-I-did-slammed-in-legislation-NY-led-the-charge-soulless-SHEEP-wanna-be herder. JOKE. NY State surely will be up for the 2013 clueless state of the year award. 2A = PERFECT AS IS. Stock Up, Load Up. STAND. Sheepville : NOT an option.

COMRADE CUOMO "no one needs 10 bullets to kill a deer" will go down in history as 1 of the dumbest / lamest / out-of-touch phrases in the history of mankind. Get the crystal balls out - look in the future. COMRADE will not lead the nation in 2016 or beyond. Laughingstock. And remember bad guys : no more than 7 bullets in those magazines : 8 tops ok : honor system now remember. BEYOND BRAINDEAD.

I support the repeal of the SAFE Act, so I personally called Mr. Duff, Mr. Hoyer, and Ms. DeJoy. The only one that answered my call was Ms. DeJoy. She stated that she agreed that the SAFE Act needed ammending, not repealing. A repeal, to her, meant abolishing the law in its entirety, and she did not agree that it was all bad. I appreciate when an elected official is willing to answer my calls, even when we don't agree with the issue at hand. So, thank you Legistator DeJoy, for talking to me and expressing your opinion, even though I don't agree with you, on this one. Oh, and she isn't the legislator in my district;Mr. Hoyer is.

As usual, Duff and Hoyer are out of step. They must go.

If only this passion to protect what is basically a "deadly toy" actually went into stopping other mandates Albany is forcing down our throats I would have hope. Unfortunately all your other freedoms are being pulled out from under your feet while you keep a firm grip on your assult rifle. This diversion and redirect is a way to take your eyes off the real issues.

The legislature can't take care of county business, but they can pander to the gun freaks?

I am not saying the SAFE ACT is totally bad but it wasn't properly thought out. It mad thousands into felons or possible felons who normally wouldn't bother anyone. Cant you tell me how a single shot competition gun with an adjustable shot can be considered an assault gun?
