Reader Wants To Make Sure Everyone’s Voices Are Heard
To The Reader’s Forum:
I want to first state that I don’t know the person who wrote this article (Reader’s Forum,March 4), I will state that I attended the town hall that she makes reference to and I was also present when we protested at Webb’s.
The author starts out by saying, “High-jacked”, excuse me but I do believe they meant, “hi-jacked” at least that is how the dictionary spells it. I don’t know where this person has been lately, perhaps living under a rock, and a great deal has happened since this town hall took place. I waited to write this reply because I wanted to see the outcome of the “vote” on the “repeal and replace,” which, oh, golly gee didn’t happen! What does the author of her article have to say now about our protest? I lived in D.C. during Vietnam. I saw what protest can do. You look at the “TEA PARTY” or whatever they are called today, we have just done what they did except we are better organized and larger in number. People forget, we lost the electoral but we are still the majority and I believe that our numbers will grow as the party in power fails to govern and get their agenda through. Just look at the facts, seven years, and they have the numbers, but not the skills to govern? We are not paid, we are Americans expressing and demonstrating our constitutional rights! I will say this it works, it was proven today, and I will make a prediction for you, we aren’t going to stop, if anything we are going to get louder and make our voices are heard and continue to bring about positive change!
Now about the author’s ramblings about minority leader Schumer. Really, where are you coming from and these statements offended you or you find them to “lack civility”, really? Excuse me, but what do you consider stealing a Supreme Court Nomination, what do you consider eight years of obstruction, what do you consider, “My, sole purpose is to make Obama a one term president!” I should find the author’s remarks humorous but I don’t, especially when I know and understand the oath that a Senator takes and who they serve. McConnell seems to have violated his oath and the damaged that he has done is very serious and reckless, so please don’t even attempt to equate any actions by minority leader Schumer as lacking in civility!
I would like to end by saying, I’m looking forward to continue making my voice heard, loud and clearly!!! See you later, you’ll definetly be hearing from me!!!
