Reader Says Violence Is No Better Than Trump Actions

To The Reader’s Forum:

I have been very discouraged and disgusted with the immaturity and violent response since the election and inauguration of President Trump.

I do not understand how those who are using violent actions, childish whining, and constant rebellion against the current authority think they are acting any better than what they are accusing our leader of doing. As I was feeling depressed this week due to all the chaos and disunity in our country,

I read the following encouraging words, “I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living,” (Psalm 27:13, NKJV). Christians, listen. We can pray that President Trump and our other leaders will make good decisions that will show God’s goodness in this “land of the living.” We must support the President when he strives to do good things such as reduce abortion, preserve our religious freedom, and protect our land from evil entering it. As Paul pled, “I exhort … that supplications, prayers, and intercessions, … be made for all men,… and all who are in authority, that we made a lead a quiet and peaceable life…” (I Timothy 2:1-2. NKJV). Christians, don’t lose heart, pray for our leaders and country that we will still see God’s goodness and His peace in this land.
