Obama’s Environmental Policies Do Not Add Up

White House aides say that if Congress attempts to establish new requirements that the Environmental Protection Agency disclose information such as the scientific basis for its rulings, President Barack Obama will veto the measures.

Obama’s aides say such requirements could delay or even prevent decisions on environmental issues.

Really? It is big news indeed that Obama is concerned about delays on environmental issues.

After all, his administration has had six years to study environmental aspects of the proposed Keystone XL pipeline. Now, Obama is saying a decision on whether to allow construction of the pipeline cannot be made until more studies are conducted.

That does not indicate much concern about moving quickly on environmental issues. Congress should proceed with proposals to demand accountability from the EPA.
