Anthony C. Voulgaris

A Jamestown resident since 2007, he was born October 17, 1937, in Bronx, NY, a son of the late Christ Voulgaris and the late Jenny Vasiliou Kalafatis.

Anthony was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1954-1958.

Before his retirement, he was a Margin Clerk on Wall Street in New York City for over 30 years.

He attended the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Jamestown and was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and the Detroit Lions.

Surviving is his wife, Helen Xenidis Voulgaris whom he married February 10, 1962, two daughters, Diana Russo of Cleveland Heights, OH, Dr. Debra Voulgaris, DVM of Venice, CA, two grandchildren, Gabriella Marie Russo, JD. Joseph Anthony Russo both of Cleveland Heights, OH, a half-brother, James Kalafatis of MD, his childhood best friend, Alan Greenwald of Cleveland Heights, OH, close friends, Elizabeth and Mark Frederick of Jamestown, NY, and Anne Zervos of Dekalb, IL.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Stamatis Kalafatis, his son-in-law, Joseph Dominic Russo, his brother-in-law, Steve Xenidis, and sister-in-law, Maria Kalafatis.

The funeral will be held at 11 am Saturday, February 11, 2023, in the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. The Rev. Soterios Rousakis, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 4-6 pm Friday in the church where a Trisagion Prayer Service will be led by Fr. Rousakis at 6 pm Friday.
