Mary Ann Spiteri Smyczek
Mary Ann Spiteri Smyczek, Maria Ana Spiteri, 78, of Jamestown, NY, passed away May 20, 2022 after a brave battle with cancer, with her children by her side. She was born May 1, 1945 to parents Emmanuele and Geralda Camilleri Spiteri in Marsa, Malta. Mary Ann also lived in Valetta, Malta.
Mary Ann married Steven Smyczek in 1967. Mary Ann is survived by her children, Gerald Patrick (Jamestown, NY), Michelle Marie (San Antonio, TX), Brian Michael Smyczek (Bemus Point, NY), and Miranda Jo Orsted. Two grandchildren, Lucas Anthony Smyczek and Makenzee Ann Smyczek. (Would soon be a great grandmother, in November.) In Malta, sister, Catherine (Kitty) Fenech and many nieces and nephews. Mary Ann was predeceased by her parents, a brother, Luis Spiteri and sister, Antionette Abela.
Mary Ann worked as a spinster, seamstress, agriculture, and manufacturing positions, throughout. Most recently enjoyed 4 years at Helping Hands of Jamestown.
Mary Ann loved her family and friends, so very much. She always had a gift for you each visit. She just adored her cats and dogs and would rescue them all, if she could. She enjoyed her coffee, sewing, cooking, yahtzee, bingo, shopping, music, Spanish food, crafts and Facebook with her loved ones, in Malta.

A memorial will be held this summer at Riccardi’s Hubert Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Pick of the Litter 1805 E. Elmwood Ave., Falconer NY 14733.
