Leonard “Lenny” G. Kimmy

Lenny was born on April 28, 1951, in Erie, Pa., the son of the late Glenn and Bernice (Proper) Kimmy. He grew up with his siblings on a small farm in Wattsburg, Pa.

He worked at General Electric for 38 years, retiring at age 55. Lenny enjoyed working with his hands and often would be found tackling a project at home or helping a friend.

Lenny was an avid hunter and fisherman and just loved being out in nature. He enjoyed boating and camping with his family, playing horseshoes, and being around his dogs. He was a fun loving individual with an uncanny sense of humor. Later in life he enjoyed the company of the people who cared for him; notably, Amanda Ayers.

Lenny is survived by his loving children: Gregory (Tammy) Kimmy of Waterford, Pa., and Sherri (Greg) Rater of Sherman, N.Y.; sister, Patricia (Robert) Bogert of Florida; grandchildren: Adrienne, Nicholas, Rachel and Megan; and great-grandchildren: Jace, Brayson and Gavin.

In addition to his parents, his brothers: Kenneth, Lawrence, Thomas, and Bradley, precede him in death.

Friends may call at the Van Matre Funeral Home, 105 Walnut St., Waterford, Pa., on Tuesday, May 10 from noon-2 p.m. and are invited to attend the funeral service at 2 p.m. The burial will take place immediately following the service at the Wattsburg Cemetery.
