Clarence Junior Card

ASHVILLE — Clarence Junior Card, 83, of Ashville, passed away at home on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, following a lengthy illness.

He was born May 26, 1938, in Ashville, N.Y., the son of the late Clarence W. and Frances B. Clark Card. Junior had attended Chautauqua Central School. After school, Jr., entered the maintenance department at MRC in Jamestown. He retired after 33 plus years.

Clarence, “Jr” as most called him was a classic car enthusiast. He knew how to restore classic cars and he knew the inside and out of an engine. He was a member of the Frewsburg Classic Car Club. Jr loved to pull into a classic car show in either his 50s Red and White Panel Truck or his Classic Black 1946 Ford Coupe. Jr was also an avid auction and estate sale attendee. He definitely knew a good deal when he saw one. In the summer Jr. loved his covered porch. He loved barbeques. And he loved his coffee.

Jr. is survived by his beloved wife of 25 plus years, Nancy Aldrich Card and their three children; Penny (John) Kent of Ashville, Daniel Card (Brenda) of Panama, and Susan Card Swanson of Venice, Fla. Jr. was also a grandfather to his grandchildren: Sarah Jane and Matthew Swanson, Zachary (Amanda) Card of Jamestown, Joshua (Carrie) VanAllen; and two great-grandchildren: Haley and Brayden Van Allen of Zimmerman, Minn. Surviving is five siblings: Arlene Trusso of Buffalo, N.Y., Everett (Valarie) Card of Falconer, N.Y., Gilbert (Susan) Card of Charlottesville, Va., Neil (Gloria) Card of Jamestown, N.Y., and Gloria (Mike) Jones of Ashville, N.Y.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Brown of Ashville, N.Y.; and an infant brother.

At Junior’s request, a private graveside service will be held in the Blockville Union Cemetery.

Memorial donations can be made to the Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Center (CA Building, 10201 Carnegie Ave, Cleveland, OH 44106).
