Pearl Ann Crippen May, 81, formerly of 52 Louisa Ave., Jamestown, passed away Monday, Nov. 29, 2021, in Sioux Falls, SD.

She was born May 5, 1940, in Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada, the daughter of the late Leonard Stewart and Laura Pearl Secord Copeland.

Pearl had worked as a waitress and as a care aid at various day care centers. She enjoyed traveling, scenic walks, crossword puzzles, reading, the theater, and movies.

Surviving are her children: Leeann Pearl Gilbert, Niagara Falls N.Y., Colleen Marie Seward, Sioux Falls SD, Debra Lynn Nelson (Bill), Frewsburg. N..Y, Christine Kathleen Woods (Doug), Shepherdsville Ky, Helen Rose Smith (Rick), Edinboro Pa., and John Thomas Seaman (Wanda), Arizonia; grandchildren: Kenny Gilbert, Pamula Gilbert, Johnathon Seward, Casey Seward, Misty Kolbrek, Heather Fisher, Amanda Pearl, Kelsey Lynn, and Kyle Nelson; 17 great-grandchildren; brother and sister, Douglas Allen Copeland and Catherine Patricia Lucas, both of Canada; and good friend, Ann Marie Damcott of Jamestown.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Ronald A. Crippen; stepfather, William John Copeland; grandmother, Martha Pearl Mattice; and brothers: John Thomas Copeland, Gordon Edward Copeland; and sister, Laure Ruth Lunn.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Adam Rohler will officiate. Burial will be in the Holland Cemetery, Clymer, N.Y.

Friends will be received from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Lind Funeral Home.
