Lucille A. Marzalen

Lucille A. Marzalen, 81, of Jamestown went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 1, 2021.

She was born October 29, 1940 in Kane, PA, the daughter of the late James and Irene Fairweather Ganoe.

Lucille was a graduate of Jamestown High School and in earlier years was employed by the former Big N Department Store. Prior to retirement she was employed by Jamestown Public Schools for 20 years as the “lunch lady” retiring in 2004.

She was a member of the Jamestown Free Methodist Church and served on various ministries within the church. Her love of the Lord shined with everything she did. “Jesus is the reason for the season” was one of her favorite sayings during this time of year. One of her favorite summer activities was attending the Cattaraugus Christian Summer Camp, where she taught bible study and was in charge of kid’s crafts. Her favorite times at camp were when her grandchildren were there with her. She was also a member of the Levant and Gerry Senior Citizens and enjoyed the many bus trips she took with these groups and her husband Jim.

Lucille was always knitting hats and scarves then donating them to several organizations in the Jamestown area. She also had a special talent for handcrafting cards and loved to send them out for special occasions or just to say I love you and am thinking about you. Anyone who received one of her cards knew they were loved and important to her.

Surviving is her husband James V. Marzalen whom she married June 28, 1958 in Jamestown; two sons: Todd (Diane) Marzalen of Erie, PA, Keith (Grace) Marzalen of Christiana, TN; six grandchildren: Kyle Marzalen, Collin Marzalen, Taylor Marzalen, Erik Marzalen, Adam Marzalen, Bryant Marzalen; two sisters: Lila Kennedy and Lois Howard both of Brookfield, FL.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers: Leslie and Lester Ganoe and two sisters: Loretta Runfola and Laura Lupole.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Dodi McIntyre of Jamestown Free Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Allen Cemetery at a later date.

Friends will be received by the family one hour prior to the funeral service Saturday in the funeral home.
