Elinor L. (Gates) Kosierb
Elinor L. (Gates) Kosierb, 95, formerly of Fredonia, N.Y., and Belleview, Fla., passed away Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021, at the Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility in Gerry, N.Y. Elinor was born on Oct. 3, 1926, in Clymer, N.Y., the daughter of Floyd and Lillian Barton Gates.
A woman of many interests, she enjoyed family, traveling, playing cards, outdoor adventures and was a talented seamstress. After raising her five children, Elinor worked at various department stores in the area and also in travel sales.
Elinor is survived by her children: Judy (Gene) Brushaber, of Cassadaga, Cindy (Joe) Barnes of Anacortes, Wash., Stephen (Barbara) Kosierb, of Fredonia and Linda (Dan) Scaglione, of Lancaster, N.Y,; also survived by five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and her sister, Jeri Petrie, of Pompano Beach, Fla.
Besides her parents, Floyd and Lillian Gates, Elinor is predeceased by her husband, Stanley Kosierb; her son, David Kosierb, who passed away on Sept. 15, 2020; also two brothers, Floyd and Gerald Gates. A private family burial will take place in the Webster Cemetery.
