Vicki Jean Saugenhaupt- Cuddy

OLEAN — Vicki Jean Slaugenhaupt-Cuddy, 68, of East Connell Street, Olean, went home to the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2021, at Olean General Hospital.

She was born Nov. 20, 1952, in Erie, Pa., the daughter of the late Richard and Beverly R. (Barber) Schreckengost. Vicki was a 1970 graduate of Randolph Central School.

Vicki retired in 2010 from Cornell Cooperative Extension in Ellicottville. She had worked previously at the West Valley High School, Tony’s Taste Freeze in Salamanca and The Rehab Center in Allegany.

She was a member of the Central Baptist Church of Olean, where she was active on the Fellowship Committee, Children’s Ministry, Piece Maker’s Quilting Club and was affectionately known as the VBS Snack lady. She also enjoyed reading, sewing, quilting and spending time with her family and church family.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel E. Cuddy, whom she married on Jan. 14, 2006′ a son, “Al” Richard Allen Slaugenhaupt II of Little Valley; four grandchildren: Kaeleigh Diblasi, Kyle and Kristen Slaugenhaupt and Sara Emerton; two great-grandchildren: Elouise and Owen Diblasi; a sister, Gayle Anderson of Randolph, daughterr-in-law, Jodie L. Slaugenhaupt of Olean; and a brother- in-law, Michael Brooks of Gowanda. As well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Beverly; her first husband, Richard Slaugenhaupt Sr. on Feb. 13, 2004, and her baby sister, Lani Marie Brooks on Feb. 26, 2021.

Services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday (Oct. 26, 2021) from the House of Prayer Church, 122 High-land Ave., Salamanca, from where friends and relatives will be received from 11 a.m.- 1p.m. Pastor Alan Yates will officiate. Burial will be in the Green Cemetery, Great Valley at 10 a.m.,, Wednesday, Oct.27.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church St., Randolph.
