Shayne C. Matteson

He was born March 23, 1996, in Dunkirk, a son of Franklin Matteson, Jr. and Lisa Hosier Silva.

He was a 2014 graduate of Pine Valley Central School.

Trucking was his life. He was employed by Dart Transit as an independent truck driver.

He enjoyed working out, hanging with his friends and family, but more than anything he loved his dogs: Apollo and Remy.

Surviving are his father and stepmother, Franklin and Kristin Matteson Jr of Pineville, La.; his mother and stepfather, Lisa and Don Silva of Cherry Creek; siblings: Jessica (George) Thellman of Mentor, Ohio, Stephanie (Ryan) Gibbs of Stow, N.Y., Franklin (Angel) Matteson III of Jamestown, Ashley (Cody) Gould of Jamestown, Candice (David) Silva of Cherry Creek, Marlene (Drew) Beach of Ft. Bragg, N.C., and Lyndsey (Mo Dadkhah) Braun of Chicago; grandparents, Shirley Hosier of Jamestown, Diane Hatcher of Conyers, Ga., and Donald and Patricia Silva of New Mexico; and nine nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Ray Hosier and Franklin and Bonnie Matteson Sr.; and a cousin, Lindsey Hosier.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home, where friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
