Maxine Elizabeth Peterson

Maxine was born in Jamestown, N.Y., a daughter of the late William and Merribel Hitchiner, sister of Fran McKeever (deceased.), Jean Wynkoop of Summerfield, Fla., and Joann Oleta Olson (deceased).

While owning and running her own Yarn Shop in Fredonia, N.Y., Maxine taught classes sharing her love of knitting and crochet. She was also an avid reader, homemaker, an enthusiastic NASCAR fan, loyal to her family hosting massive gatherings in “The Woods,” and always ready to lend a listening ear.

Maxine is preceded in death by son, Kenneth “Butch” R. Peterson of Orlando, Fla., and survived by daughter, Sharon Lee of Tampa, Fla., and son, William “Bill” W. Peterson and his wife, Lynne of Bemus Point, N.Y; and daughter-in-law Mary Peterson of Eustis, Fla. Maxine leaves a legacy of many grandchildren, great- grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and many beloved family members.

At Maxine’s request there will be no funeral. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
