Michael C. “Pete” Haller

Michael C. “Pete” Haller, 71, of Kiantone, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at Select Specialty Hospital in Erie, Pa.

Mike was the husband of Debra Swiderski Haller, whom he married April 21, 1973.

He was born Jan. 2, 1950 in Jamestown, the son of the late Ralph and Alice Perry Haller.

A Navy veteran, he served during the Vietnam War.

Mike was employed for more than 40 years by the former Quality Markets in Jamestown, where he was a store manager. Following retirement, he enjoyed working for CARTS.

Active in the town of Kiantone, Mike served as town supervisor for 23 years, was a life member of the Kiantone Fire Department and a trustee of the Kiantone Cemetery Association. He belonged to the Frewsburg American Legion, War Vets Recreation, Lakewood Rod & Gun Club and the Moose.

Mike loved vacationing, to Florida and especially Barbados, which he and Debra happily visited numerous times. He enjoyed working on the farm and tending to his gardens. Most important to him was the time spent with his family and with friends – he simply made friends everywhere he went. Mike loved to joke with everyone while always being known for his quiet words of wisdom.

Along with his wife, Debra, surviving are their two children: Christopher (Elizabeth) Haller of Kiantone and Kerri (Gary) Dove of Kennedy; three grandchildren: Addison Dove, Kaden Dove and Aleasha Haller; and a brother, Allen (Judy) Haller of Kiantone; and two sisters: Anne Ohlsson of New Mexico and Alice (James) Paige of Bemus Point. Mike was also well-loved by his sisters- and brothers-in-law and his many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at noon Monday, May 10, at the Koinonia Christian Fellowship, 1427 Warren Jamestown Blvd., Jamestown. Pastor Ronald A. Lemon will officiate. Burial will be in Kiantone’s Maple Grove Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Kiantone Fire Department, 2318 Stillwater St., Jamestown, NY 14701 or the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516.
