Joyce Louise Cederquist

She was born August 12, 1930, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Gustav Uno and Gertrude Mae Sorensen Seagren.

She was a 1948 graduate of Jamestown High School.

She worked for many years running the office for her husband Donald “Skip” Cederquist who managed Canteen Vending Service and subsequently for the JCC bookstore.

Devoted to her family and proud of her Swedish heritage, she was quick to help her family when help was needed. An active member of Thule Lodge for many years and perhaps their longest-term member.

Surviving are two daughters, Suzanne K. Purpura (James) of Belmont NC and Sandra L. Lathem (Michael) of Easley SC; 5 grandchildren Arik Purpura (Kim) of Charlotte NC , Andrew Purpura (Kelly) of Sharpsburg GA, Lauren Reaves (Matt) of Fountain Inn SC, Allison McLaren (Andrew) of Ranlo NC and Megan Gentry (Drew) of Kailua HI;who lovingly addressed “Gramma Angel” as they were all Gramma’s Angels; as well as her 8 great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Donald Cederquist, who died in 2019.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service where masks will be required and social distancing observed.
