James E. “Jim” Andersen

Jim was born on Oct. 1, 1952, in Jamestown, N.Y., the son of the late Clarence and Nellie Briggs Andersen.

Jim graduated from Jamestown High School in 1970. He served in the U.S. Airforce from 1973-76. He worked as a grinder for SKF for 34 years and retired from there in 2012.

He enjoyed antique cars, camping and golfing. His main priority was his family. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Jim is survived by his wife, Brenda J. Hollister Andersen, whom he married on June 2, 2001; three daughters: Kathy Andersen (significant other Scott Nelson) of Jamestown, N.Y., Jaime Andersen of Rochester, N.Y. and Melissa Cooper (fiance, Frank Miceli) of Jamestown, N.Y.; his brother, Dennis (Dianne) Andersen of Lakewood, N.Y.; sister-in-law: Darileen Andersen of Jamestown, N.Y.; four grandchildren: Taylor Andersen, Dallas Conkright, Alexander Conkright and Ethan Miceli.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Mark Andersen.

Family and friends may call at Powers, Present & Sixbey Funeral Home Inc., 316 East Fifth St., Jamestown, N.Y. on Saturday from 1-3 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 3 p.m. The Rev. James Bailey will officiate, retired pastor of Park United Methodist Church, Sinclairville. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Jamestown, N.Y. Face coverings and social distancing will be required.
