Bryon L. McCreary

Bryon L. McCreary, 77, of 130 Ivory St., Frewsburg, passed away Friday (Mar. 26, 2021) at UPMC Hamot in Erie, PA.

He was born Nov. 5, 1943 in Jamestown, the son of Clarence and Helen Bly McCreary.

Prior to retirement he had been employed as an electrician at MRC/SKF.

Bryon was a US army veteran serving in Vietnam.

He was a member of the Samuel Derby Post 556 American Legion, Frewsburg, where he had served on the board.

Bryon was involved with the Jamestown Audubon Community Nature Center.

He enjoyed roller skating, crosscountry skiing, fishing and hunting.

Bryon is survived by his wife Emma Rowley McCreary whom he married in 1981, two children: Tonya McCreary and husband, (Matthew Bryant) of VA and Corinna McCreary of Frewsburg; three grandchildren: Abby, Alex, and Logan; a brother: Robert (Lois) McCreary of Bemus Point and FL, and a sister: Linda (Jim) Ford of GA.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by an infant son, Michael McCreary, and a brother, Charles McCreary.

A family funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg.

Rev. Phillip Roushey, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, Frewsburg, will officiate.

Burial will be in Fentonville Cemetery, Frewsburg.

The family will receive friends for a walk-through visitation from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

Masks will be required.
