Tammy Rae Newhouse Buck

Warren, Pa.–Tammy Rae Newhouse Buck, 62, of Warren, PA and form-erly of Ashville, N.Y., passed away on Friday, Jan. 8, 2021 at the Warren Manor Nursing Home in Warren, Pa. following a lengthy battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

She was born Dec. 8, 1958 in Corry, Pa., the daughter of the late Bernard Newhouse and Phyllis TeWinkle Hanson.

Tammy was a graduate of Chautauqua Central School, class of 1975, and then attended Fredonia State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. She then moved to Arizona where she worked in Child Protec-tive Services until moving back to Jamestown, N.Y. in the early 2000s. Tammy was also a member of the Open Meadows United Methodist Church in Ash-ville, N.Y.

Throughout her life she especially enjoyed the fel-lowship of others, whether it was while sharing some laughs, or mentoring others with their struggles, or playing cards, bingo, and pool. During her life she also loved her cats, teddy bears, turquoise jewelry, walks in the woods, and the Rolling Stones.

Tammy is survived by her step-mother; Betty Newhouse of Mayville, N.Y. as well as a wonder-fully mixed blend of half- and step-siblings including Zoe Ritchie of Smicksburg, Pa., Richard Hubbell of Mayville, N.Y., Daniel Hanson of Mayville, N.Y., Scott Newhouse of Naples, FL, and Eric Hanson of Buffalo, NY. She was also blessed to have many lov-ing aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a step-father; Franklin Hanson, and siblings; Teri New-house, David Hanson, and Cathy Newhouse Benton.

They family would like to extend sincere apprecia-tion and heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Warren Manor for their incredible love, care and support for Tammy. They were true friends and a loving family for the five years she called this special place “home”.

There will be no services at this time. A celebration of Tammy’s life will be held at the convenience of the family.
