Richard C. Bremer

Richard C. Bremer, 86, of 1225 Newland Ave., died Monday, Dec. 21, 2020, in UPMC Chautauqua.

A native of Dunkirk, he was born Feb. 10, 1934, a son of the late John and Elizabeth Scott Bremer.

He was a 1952 graduate of Dunkirk High School.

A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he served from 1954-58.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Weber Knapp as inventory manager for 23 years. Following retirement, he worked for his daughter at Elegant Edibles for 20 years.

He was a member of Lakewood Rod and Gun Club and Herman Kent Post American Legion.

His volunteer work includes ushering at Reg Lenna Civic Center, The Spire, Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena and Struthers Library Theatre in Warren.

Surviving are his wife, Virginia Nichols Bremer, whom he married April 11, 1964; two children: Vicki (Robert) McGraw and Scott (Loretta Waterman) Bremer, both of Jamestown; two grandsons: Todd (Amanda) McGraw of Melbourne, Fla., and Mark McGraw of Jamestown; a great-granddaughter, Blake Rose McGraw of Melbourne, Fla.; and a brother, Edward Bremer of Dunkirk.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by seven siblings.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.

A walk through visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday Jan. 2, 2021, in the Lind Funeral Home. Masks and social distancing will be required during this time.
