Andrew S. Passinger III

Andrew S. Passinger, 76, of Magnolia Rest Home in Frewsburg, formerly of Jamestown, passed away Wednesday (Dec. 2, 2020) in Warren Manor, Warren, Pa.

He was born Feb. 8, 1944, in Jamestown, the son of the late Andrew S. (II) and Elaine Diers Passinger.

Andy attended Cassadaga Valley High School and was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Air Force in 1962 with the military police.

Prior to retirement, he was employed by Chautauqua Hardware for 34 years. Andy was a member of Herman Kent Post 777, American Legion, St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church and Handicap Parents Group. He enjoyed his family, woodworking, gardening and kareokee.

Surviving are two sisters: Catherine L. LeBarron of Jamestown and May E. Passinger of Sinclairville; three nieces/nephews: Dawn Meabon, Darren Burnside and Elaine Burnside-Hrivnak; seven grandnieces and grand-nephews, and a great-grandniece.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce M. Hanson Passinger, whom he married March 1, 1969, and who died Jan. 29, 2000; and a son, Eric Chandler Passinger, whom they adopted in 1997, and who died Dec. 31, 2002.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Falconer.

Friends will be received by the family one hour prior to the funeral service Saturday in the funeral home.
