James M. Nowicki

He was born Dec. 3, 1940, in Buffalo, the son of the late Edward G. and Adeline Klisiewicz Nowicki.

James was a graduate of Emerson Vocational High School, received his associates degree from Jamestown Community College, and Bachelors in Business Administration Finance from SUNY Fredonia. In earlier years, James was employed by Shelly Brand Meat Products, Tobin Meat Packing, Brown Built and Herbert Shoes. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Allegheny Environmental Services, United Refining Company and Segel & Son, Inc.

He was a member of St. James Roman Catholic Church in Jamestown and Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Warren, Pa. While attending church in Warren, he served on the churches Parish Mortgage Appeal and 2002 Stewardship Campaign Appeal committees. In earlier years, he had served on various troop committees for the Boy Scouts of America.

Surviving are his loving, caring and dedicated wife, Annette Marie Zwolinski Nowicki, whom he married July 14, 1962, in Buffalo, N.Y,; a son, Commander, U.S. Navy (Ret.) Mark T. (Jessica) Nowicki of Cheshire, Conn.; two daughters, Gail J. (Jack) Rensel of Jamestown and Lori LN. Elle (Larry Williams) of Falconer; seven grandchildren: Savannah Nowicki, Avery Nowicki, Kyle (Kaitlin) Rensel, Lindsey Rensel (Jordan Goold), Alicia Rensel, Ashley (TJ) Williamson, Jessica (Travis) Dickerson; five great–grandchildren: Weston Dwaileebe, Maci Williamson, TJ Williamson, Jr., Ethan Dickerson and Paislee Dickerson; a brother, Thomas (Diane) Nowicki; sister-in-law, Rita Nowicki; and several nieces, nephews, Godchildren and cousins.

From beginning as a young manager, then as a salesman, and finally as an accountant, he was a “Problem Solver” and in later life evolved into a “Puzzle Master”, reaching self-actualization. He will be remembered when one views the many puzzles he completed for his family and friends. Like life, he sorted, built a foundation, connected the sections, and brought it all together to completion. His hobby in his younger days was bowling, he will now be bowling in heaven … an analogy that calmed our fears as children, and now will graciously remind us of his presence through the sound of thunder. Throughout our life lessons, dad would always remind us, “The sun will rise the next morning without fail.” Dad’s greatest accomplishments in life were his 58 year marriage and watching his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren learn, grow and flourish. He also enjoyed many camping outings with his family and grandchildren.

With your passing Dad, the sun DID rise! You will be lovingly missed!

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Norman (Anne) Nowicki and Robert Nowicki; and an infant sister, Adeline Nowicki.

A private memorial graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
