James L. Snyder

James L. Snyder, 65, of Salamanca, died Wednes-day October 14, 2020, in Baton Rouge, La.

A native of Jamestown, he was born February 1, 1955, a son of the late James Snyder and Betty Wilson Pierce.

He earned an Associate’s Degree from Jamestown Community College.

He owned and operated United States Roofing for many years with his son.

He enjoyed photography and photo editing and will be remembered for his abil-ity to talk to and play with children as though they were the same age, for his stories of his trip to Israel and Egypt when he was able to walk where Jesus had walked and visit places spoken of in the Bible. He was an explorer, but many joked he drove in circles. For him, he spoke frequent-ly of how he felt he was making the world better by helping people repair their homes after devastating storms.

Surviving are four sons Jeremy Snyder of Gallatin, Tenn., Joseph Snyder of Salamanca, Matthew (Jessi-ca) Snyder of Ripley and Daniel (Chelsea) Lucariello of Gerry and their mother Bobetta Gane of Bemus Point; five grandchildren Marissa Snyder, Rilynn Snyder, Noah Snyder, No-lan Snyder, Landon Hultin-Lucariello and his sister Beatrice Lindahl of Florida. Robert Orr and Brandey Oaks who he con-sidered family also survive him. He had many nieces and nephews he loved greatly.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by siblings Brenda Imus and Bruce Wilson.

Observing Corona Virus best practices, a private funeral will be held at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.

A walk-through visita-tion will be held from 5-6 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home.
