Robert L. Beckerink

Born in Corry, Pa. on Feb. 4, 1930, to Lawrence and Jennie (Duink) Beckerink, Bob lived his life devoted to family and farm.

Graduating from Clymer High School in 1948, Bob took over the family farm in the 1950s and started his family by marrying the love of his life, Carolyn, on Sept. 23, 1959. Bob was a longtime member of the Abbe Reformed Church and served on its Consistory. Over the years Bob also belonged to a number of agricultural and dairy organizations. To all neighbors and friends you would be greeted by a huge smile or a hand in the air wave from the tractor in the field.

Robert is survived by: his wife of 61 years, Carolyn Wevers Beckerink; three children: Rod (Marion) Beckerink of Jamestown, N.Y., Philip Beckerink of Clymer, N.Y. and Janna (Wayne) Anderson of Frewsburg, N.Y.; granddaughter, Tera Anderson; stepgrandson, Josh Karpeh; in-laws, Arthur Hodges, Lester and Wyona Wevers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Robert is predeceased by his infant daughter, Rachel; brothers: Howard (late Helen) and Ivan (late Betty); sisters: Arline (late Lloyd) Harvey, Pauline (late Lyle) Johnson and Dorothy Hodges.
