Kathryn M. Baus

Kathryn M. Baus, 73, of 3225 Philmont St. Raleigh, N.C. passed unexpectedly in her home on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2020.

A native of New Britain, Conn., Kathy was born Oct. 4, 1946, a daughter of the late William and Rita Poppel Foley. She was a graduate of Fredonia State University with a masters in education. Prior to her retirement, Kathy was an elementary school teacher in Jamestown, N.Y., and an employee of Walmart in Lakewood, N.Y.

Kathy was a member of Imago Dei Church in Raleigh, N.C., and prior to that Zion Covenant Church in Jamestown. She was also a member of the Chautauqua Lake Region Automobile Club of America.

In 2015, after the pass-ing of her husband, Richard ”Dick,” Kathy relocated to Raleigh, to live close to her sons and grandchildren. Kathy enjoyed the many hours spent with her family and friends in Raleigh, as well as continuing close connections with family and friends who lived else-where. She was a loving mother, grandmother and faithful friend.

Surviving are her two sons: Christopher (Eylin) Baus of Lake Tahoe, Nev. and Jeremy (Deborah) Baus of Raleigh, N.C.; four grandchildren: Raji, Sena, Judah and Zoe; three brothers: William (Margaret) Foley, Thomas Foley and James Foley; two sisters: Margaret Nordgren and Anita (Chris) Foley-Papa; sister-in-law, Carol (Frank) McMenamin; and many nieces nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 1, 2020, at Imago Dei Church in Raleigh.
