A proud, lifelong resident of Jamestown, Louise was born July 7, 1932 to E. George Denka and Jane Treska Denka.

Louise attended Jamestown High School, graduating in 1950. For 33 years she worked in professional relations for Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Prior to her retirement in 1994, she was employed as insurance coordinator for Jamestown Radiology for 10 years.

Louise attended St. Elia Albanian Orthodox Church and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and a former member of the Zonta Club.

Surviving is her cousin Dorothy Koenig of Edwardsville, Ill., and her niece Kath (Mark) Oiness of Henderson, Nev., and nephews Mike (Vicki) Denka of Spokane, Wash., Dave (Pam) Denka of Dayton, Ohio, and Andy (Lynn) Denka of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Great nieces and nephews are Matt, Kate, Kara, Kacey, Zach, Rachel, Natalie, Eva, Sara, Annie, and Sam. We will all miss her fudge, tickets, trips to the casino, jokes, stories, football knowledge, and Sunday phone calls.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, sister Eleanor Denka (2009), with whom she made her home for many years, and her brother Dr. George A. Denka (1998).

A private family service will be held in the Lind Funeral Home led by the Rev. Father John P. Hutnyan. Visitation will not be observed. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. A celebration of her life will be held in her honor in the summer of 2021.

Thank you to the many friends, neighbors and acquaintances who gave the “spice of life” to Louise in her later years. Thank you also to the staff of Lutheran Rehabilitation Jamestown for their compassionate care.
